Presentation
The Master's proposes a way of designing projects which allows for dialogue between tradition and modernity in architecture and collaboration between different disciplines so that architectural projects combine geography and social history in the most favourable way.

The programme is divided into two postgraduate courses. Each postgraduate course analyses this question from a specific point of view:

  • The postgraduate course in Urban and Territorial Form seeks to establish the disciplinary foundations so that projects are designed in a way which is sensitive to the cultures and geographical conditions in the location where the construction project is carried out.

  • The postgraduate course in City, Space and Culture studies examples of how the relationship between history and geography is "constructed" in the professional sphere of architecture, at an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary level.

  • Such an approach seeks to enrich environmental, social and historical methodologies in projects designed to transform the physical surroundings and in their actual construction.

These methodologies have their origin in the different professions which contribute to the planning of human space and which often work in a detached way without any or with little contact with the professional field of architecture.

In this Master's course there is a need to initiate interdisciplinary dialogue to bring about new ideas to improve the human, social and technical quality of architectural projects.
