Aims
The aim of the Master's is to prepare competent professionals so that they are able to analyse, evaluate, diagnose and establish main guidelines for public action in the field of architecture, public works and services, as well as the organisation, shaping and management of urban planning and of the environment.

The reasoning behind the creation of this Master's course is:

  • The disparity between the growth in urban populations in developing countries and the lack of professionals to manage cities and the territory.

  • The growing importance of local administrations in sustainable development.

  • The chance to share the vast experience in urban and territorial management acquired in Spain, Catalonia and Barcelona over the last twenty years.

  • The cultural proximity to Latin America which facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as the consolidation of networks of cities, co-operation and research.

  • The university's social responsibility.
